UV fluorescent additive is mixed with a fluid system, e.g. water, oils, fuels, coolants and refrigerants. The equipment is then operated as normal to allow the fluorescent additive to circulate throughout.Inspection under UV blacklight of all external surfaces, pipework, joints and coils will reveal leaks as a bright fluorescent yellow/green glow. This process can be used for routine quality control or troubleshooting procedures and offers an improved probability of fluid leak detection.We manufacture a selection of handheld or fixed-mount units with waterproof options available, suitable for damp or wet environments.

Hydrocarbons
The smallest amount of hydrocarbon contamination (oil or grease) within an oxygen vessel or connecting pipework can result in catastrophic consequences. It is literally an explosive mixture. Most hydrocarbons will naturally fluoresce under UV blacklight illumination and therefore this process is absolutely essential for all oxygen vessel and plant manufacturers.

UV blacklights for enabling conservators to reveal evidence of imperfections, restoration and repair to items such as paintings, paper, books and ceramics, which are not easily visible under normal lighting.Other applications include detection of forgeries, mould and enhancement of difficult to read print on paper and parchments.The inspection of works of art under UV blacklight is a means of revealing imperfections and evidence of restoration, an important aspect of authentication for valuation and sale.

Signature sprays
A wide range of UV blacklights for detection of SmartWater, SelectaDNA and other signature sprays on detainers in police custody suites during forensic searches and identifying lost property. Signature sprays are virtually invisible in normal lighting but glow vibrantly under UV blacklight.
